Manchester City will be looking for a victory against Liverpool in Saturday's early kickoff in order to put further pressure on Arsenal at the top of the Premier League.
Star striker Erling Haaland has been the focus of a lot of the conversation leading up to this weekend's game. Due to a groin injury, the Norwegian talisman was forced to miss out on international duty.
While Haaland did not participate in Thursday's practice, Pep Guardiola did not rule the striker out of Saturday's game, stating instead that he would wait until the conclusion of Friday's session to assess Haaland's condition. With his performance against Burnley in City's most recent game, Julian Alvarez may be counted on to play if he is unable to start.
Phil Foden is one player who the Blues notably lack. The Englishman had appendectomy surgery and is no longer eligible to play in today's game.
