Pep Guardiola, the head coach of Manchester City, has commented on Frank Lampard's decision to return to Chelsea as manager.
Lampard's return to Chelsea has given him a "fresh chance," according to Guardiola, at Stamford Bridge.
Since Graham Potter was fired last weekend, Lampard was just named as Chelsea's interim manager for the remainder of the campaign.
The Englishman, who became a legend at Chelsea because of his playing prowess, had a lackluster tenure as manager from July 2019 until his dismissal in January 2021.
After leaving Chelsea, the erstwhile midfield guru took over as Everton's head coach, but he was fired in January as the Toffees fought relegation.
Guardiola remarked during his pre-game news conference on Friday before Manchester City's encounter against Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday.
