Folarin Balogun of Arsenal has decided to support the United States rather than England, and Fifa has given its approval.
The 21-year-old, whose current club is Reims in France on loan, was born in the US to parents from Nigeria but was nurtured in England.
Balogun had represented England's Under-21 team, however he withdrew in March due to an injury.
It's been gathered that the upcoming European Under-21 Championship will not include him.
Balogun has 34 appearances for Reims this season and 19 goals in Ligue 1.
