"Manchester United need to sign top players to compete for trophies" - Erik Den Hag

Erik Den Hag has revealed that Manchester United need to spend big in the summer. 

The Red Devils are currently undergoing transformation since Erik Den Hag took over at the Old Trafford stadium. 

The Dutch boss was appointed at the start of the season and he has already won the league Cup in his first season in charge. 

United are fourth in the Premier League table, they host Brighton Hove Albion tonight at Old Trafford. 

Speaking ahead of the game, Den Hag believes that Manchester United are one of the biggest clubs in Europe. 

The former Ajax coach highlighted the need to complete for trophies using funds to purchase top players. 

Ten Hag said: “Manchester United are one of the biggest clubs in the world. Funds are needed to complete for biggest trophies, Everyone knows that it takes funds to sign top players”.

At the start of the season, Erik Ten Hag signed Antony Santos for 100m pounds and Lisandro Martinez both from Ajax. 

Rafael Varane and Casemiro Joined from Real Madrid, Christain Eriksen was signed as a free agent. 

In January transfer window, Erik Ten Hag signed Weghorst and  Sabitzer on loan deal.

Erik Ten Hag added that Manchester United need to strengthen the team, “We have to strengthen the squad during transfer windows”.
