Guimaraes celebrated the 4-1 victory by making the 'A' and heart signs in front of the Gallowgate Stand after scoring his first goal at St. James' Park since October to seal the victory.
The event served to demonstrate solidarity with young Newcastle supporter Arthur Salters-Hoult, who is facing the uncommon disease acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
The Brazilian met with Arthur last week and showed up for the game in full support.
During the post-victory dressing room picture, Guimaraes held up a Newcastle jersey that said, "You can beat this Arthur," in addition to celebrating his goal.
The 25-year-old then uploaded a photograph on Instagram with the caption: "This was for you my friend! We’re behind you and everything will be alright!”
