Former England international Gabby Agbonlahor has criticized Aaron Ramsdale of Arsenal for not being a top-tier goalkeeper.
Emiliano Martinez, the Aston Villa goalkeeper, is superior than Ramsdale in Agbonlahor's opinion.
This season in the Premier League, Ramsdale and Martinez have both performed well for their respective teams.
“I don’t think he [Aaron Ramsdale] is world-class. No, he is not world-class,” Agbonlahor told talkSPORT.
“Yesterday, I was talking to someone about Martinez, [there has] been talk that all the big clubs want Aston Villa’s goalkeeper."
If you recall Emiliano Martinez left Arsenal two years ago after he refused to second choice to Bernd Leno whose now in Fulham.
The Argentine world cup winner went ahead to eine the FA Cup and Community Shield before he joined Aston Villa.
Agbonlahor added, “I’m saying, ‘you can’t let him go, Aston Villa!’. Because every club that is doing well in world football has got a top goalkeeper and he is top. Martinez is better than Ramsdale for me.”
Meanwhile Mikel Arteta who seems to be delighted about the progress of Ramsdale has offered him a new deal.
The 24-year-old has signed a contract with Arsenal on a long term on Friday, with reports suggesting that his salary was doubled as well.
