On Monday, Fabrizio Romano announced that Arsenal had sent a second formal offer to Ajax for the signing of Jurrien Timber.

Arsenal reportedly wants to clinch a deal this week in order to tie up their transfer business before the start of the preseason.

According to Romano, talks between the teams are progressing and the current offer is between €45 and €48 million (£38.7 to 41.3 million).

In Timber's opinion, it is obvious that he likes the Arsenal concept and wants to participate, and he has a prepared and agreed-upon contract that runs through 2028.

The 22-year-old, who played 15 times for the Dutch national team, made 47 appearances for Ajax during the 2022–23 season.

Timber will make at least £90,000 a week at Arsenal, with attainable add-ons that could raise his pay as close to £120,000 as possible.

Arsenal is optimistic, and there is growing hope that they will reach a deal shortly.
