Inter Miami have gained over 4.5M followers since announced signing of Lionel Messi

Inter Miami's Instagram followers nearly quadrupled since Lionel Messi revealed his intention to join the team.

Upon declaring that Messi has decided to sign with the MLS team, Inter Miami reportedly attracted more than 4.5 million followers on social media.

After his two-year contract with PSG expired this year, the attacker, 35, departed the club.

Messi allegedly rejected a transfer to Saudi Arabia, and Barcelona's return was impractical given the financial state of the Spanish squad.

If you remember, Lionel Messi left the Camp Nou, where he spent more than two decades, and signed Paris Saint-Germain last year when his contract there expired.
