Following six years with the team, Benjamin Mendy has been dismissed by Manchester City.
Apparently, the French defense attorney will stand trial again on accusations of rape and sexual assault after being exonerated of seven previous crimes.
Although City has not formally announced the left-back's departure, his name can be seen on the Premier League's list of players whose teams released them after the season ended.
Mendy paid £52 million to go to City from Monaco in 2017 and made 75 appearances before being detained in November 2020 on suspicion of rape after a 24-year-old woman accused him of the crime at his house the previous month.
He was freed while an investigation was ongoing, and two months later he was accused of sexually assaulting a second lady, this time aged 24. He was also suspected of raping three additional women, one of whom was 17 years old, while he was out on police bail for the first offense. He was exonerated of all charges in all of these cases.
