Manchester United intends to make a third, formal offer for Mason Mount that exceeds £55 million.
It will be Red Devils' third attempt to make a bid for the English international.
As per Reportminds.com, Manchester United is offering £50 million for Mason Mount, plus an additional £5 million.
If you remember, Manchester United's initial offer was for £45 million plus £5 million, and its second offer for £60 million plus £7 million was also rejected.
Following the rejection of two previous offers in recent weeks, sports writer Fabrizio Romano said that this would be the last offering.
Mason Mount and Manchester United have completely agreed upon personal terms, and Chelsea must now decide whether to accept the player's offer.
The Chelsea academy product has one year remaining on his present contract with the Blues, and he has told the club's management that he won't be extending it.
If a deal isn't worked out during this summer's transfer window, the Blues run the possibility of losing him on a free transfer.
