Real Madrid's striker Karim Benzema's public response was anxiously awaited as rumors of an impending departure picked up speed in recent days. The Ballon d'Or winner may leave the Spanish capital after fifteen seasons.

The Frenchman talked to the Spanish media about the rumors while speaking at a ceremony when he received the Marca Leyenda honor in recognition of his whole career.

 The ex-Lyon striker was evasive when asked about his long-term plans: “Why should I talk about the future? I’m at Real Madrid. Reality is not the same as what is said on the internet."

The 35-year-old was reported to have accepted a rich offer from Saudi Arabia's domestic league winners Al-Ittihad, and he might follow Cristiano Ronaldo as the next star player to be lured by the Gulf state's investment.
