David de Gea announces his departure from Manchester United after 12 years with the team

The Spanish goalkeeper, who spent twelve seasons at Old Trafford, departs United as a free agent.

The 32-year-old's deal with United ended at the conclusion of June, and despite conversations taking place during the season, no new agreement was reached.

Taking to his Twitter timeline, he wrote: "I just wanted to send this farewell message to all Manchester United supporters.

"I would like to express my unwavering gratitude and appreciation for the love from the last 12 years. We’ve achieved a lot since my dear Sir Alex Ferguson brought me to this club. I took incredible pride everytime I pulled on this shirt, to lead the team, to represent this institution, the biggest club in the world was an honour only bestows upon a few lucky footballers.

"It’s been an unforgettable and successful period since I came here. I didn’t think from leaving Madrid as a young boy we would achieve what we did together.

"Now, it’s the right time to undertake a new challenge, to push myself again in new surroundings.

"Manchester will always be in my heart, Manchester has shaped me and will never leave me.

"We’ve seen it all"

Manchester United interested In Signing Andre Onana From Inter Milan
Manchester United and Inter Milan are still in contact as they try to reach an agreement on Andre Onana's transfer price, which might be in the neighborhood of £45 million (€52.5 million) inclusive of add-ons.

The goalkeeper's entire market value is £51 million (€60 million), and the Serie A team's stated attitude is that he will stay with the team until that amount is reached.

Despite the fact that United's first offer of £38.5 million (€45 million) was properly rejected, insiders close to the player think that all sides want to achieve a deal before Onana reports for Inter's preseason on July 13.

Onana has made it obvious that he wants to join Old Trafford and work with his old Ajax boss Ten Hag again. Ten Hag is spearheading the pursuit for the 27-year-old.
