Following Mauricio Pochettino's lifeline to the striker, Didier Drogba, a veteran of Chelsea, has asked Romelu Lukaku to phone him.
After being formally introduced on Friday, Pochettino said that if Lukaku is still with the team, he should report for preseason.
The Belgian has made it obvious that he wants to join the Serie A powerhouse on a permanent basis after spending the previous season on loan at Inter Milan.
Despite the attention of many Pro League teams, the 30-year-old has no plans to go to Saudi Arabia.
But Pochettino gave Lukaku a chance to redeem himself on Friday by announcing that he anticipates seeing the former Manchester United forward back at Chelsea's Cobham training facility the following week.
However, Lukaku just updated his Instagram account while on vacation, as Drogba noted on Friday.“Hey boy, Romelu Lukaku please call me!”
