Liverpool are aiming to strengthen their midfield options and see Caicedo as a great opportunity addition. According to talkSPORT, while Blues remain favored to sign Caicedo, Liverpool might yet make a late move to derail their plans if both Henderson and Fabinho go.
Caicedo, Mauricio Pochettino's priority transfer target, is thought to be close to an £80 million ($105 million) deal with the Blues. The athlete has also stated that "he can't say no" to Chelsea's offer "because it's a very big, historic, beautiful team." However, Liverpool weren't in contention for him at the time.
Brighton rate the player at £100 million, and if Liverpool outbid Chelsea, the Seagulls will sell him to the highest possible bidder. Selling the likes of Henderson and Fabinho would give Liverpool a substantial cash to spend in midfield reinforcements. While the captain might fetch around £10 million ($13 million), Al Ittihad are prepared to approach them with a big price of £40 million ($52 million) for the Brazilian midfielder. This provides them with an initial investment of £50 million ($63 million). Liverpool is also interested in Southampton's Romeo Lavia, who is valued at £50 million ($63 million) by the Saints.
