Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON, First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has congratulated Nigeria's Super Falcons for reaching the knockout stage of the FIFA Women's World Cup, which has been co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
The Nigerian team, who played a goalless tie with the Ireland squad this afternoon, was cheered on throughout by the First Lady, who thought the Nigerian team was more disciplined and resilient.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu said that although the team will be meeting with England on Monday, they should not be intimidated since they had the best wishes of all Nigerians, not only herself and the President.
She sent her warmest regards for the squad, stating that her heart is with them in her thoughts and prayer, rooting for them to win the trophy since they are all working as a team with a 'can-do' attitude.
The Super Falcons came second in Group B, behind only Australia.
