Justice Oyewole Adeyeye, Chief Judge of Ekiti State, almost avoided death on Wednesday when a piece of the state high court building collapsed on him while he was in his office.
Justice Adeyeye is alleged to be seeking medical treatment at an unnamed state hospital.
According to reports, the event occurred near the end of the workday on Wednesday. At the moment of the collapse, the jury remained in his chamber.
Although no one was killed in the fall, the Chief Judge was apparently seriously injured when an area of the courtroom collapsed on him.
It took significant effort from workers to extricate the judge from the rubble.
