Opta claims that Yamal was the youngest player to record a La Liga assist in the twenty-first century at the age of 16 and 45 days.

By accomplishing his goal, the 16-year-old overtook Ansu Fati, a fellow La Masia alumnus to become the youngest player to earn a La Liga assist this century.

The Moroccan-born Spanish winger also owns the record for Barcelona's youngest-ever La Liga début, so he is no stranger to breaking records.
