As Mikel Arteta looks to expand his options before the transfer window closes at the end of the month, the 22-year-old defender has lately been strongly connected with a move to the Emirates Stadium.

After Jurrien Timber sustained a terrible injury on the first day of the new Premier League season, Arsenal is keen to recruit a replacement.

Garcia, whose contract at the Camp Nou expires in 2026, played 24 La Liga games for the Catalan team last year, contributing to Xavi's team's 17 shutouts.

Despite his stellar performances, Eric Gracia ffound it difficult to establish himself in Barcelona's defense and was often chosen as a holding midfielder instead.

Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez has no plans of allowing the Spain international to go so close to deadline day, claims Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo.

According to the report, Barcelona would find it "difficult to accept" a bid for Garcia, but they'd be willing to consider selling him if a reasonable one came in.

In addition, Mundo Deportivo notes that with Jurrien Timber out injured, the Gunners seem to just see the £43 million teenager as a temporary fix.
