Chelsea refused to give Lukaku, Ziyech and Callum Hudson jersey numbers ahead of 2023-24

Chelsea has chosen not to assign jersey numbers to at least three players for the 2023-24 season.

Prior to the start of their season this Saturday, the Blues have revealed the official squad jersey numbers.

On Sunday, Mauricio Pochettino's team will play Liverpool at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League's opening game.

Three members of the Chelsea first team roster, however, did not get jersey numbers.

Romelu Lukaku, Hakim Ziyech, and Callum Hudson-Odoi are the participants.

Hakim Ziyech came so close to joining PSG last season, but Chelsea was unable to finalize the paperwork prior to the deadline for transfers. Then it was revealed that a Moroccan player who was set to go to Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia this summer failed a medical exam.

Callum Hudson returns to Chelsea after spending the previous season on loan at Bayern Leverkusen. It seems that the English winger failed to make an impression on Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso.

Last but not least, Lukaku is in negotiations with Juventus after deciding against going back to Inter Milan.

The trio is reportedly set to depart Stamford Bridge for new teams this summer.

Fabrizio Romano, a football transfer analyst, verified this on his social media page.

On Tuesday, Romano tweeted: "
No official shirt number for Hakim Ziyech, Romelu Lukaku, and Callum Hudson-Odoi.

“Chelsea expect all of them to leave the club in the next [few] weeks.”
