David Beckham said those who claim Inter Miami's recent victories are the result of a "fix" are greatly endorsing the team.
The MLS team has participated in a number of exciting matches since adding Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba.
The three, who were formerly members of Barcelona, completely changed the trajectory of Beckham's team, bringing home their first-ever title last weekend after a thrilling penalty shootout triumph against SC Nashville in the Leagues Cup final.
After the game, when a reporter said that their previous games had nearly appeared choreographed, Beckham reacted to "fix" charges.
Just last night, Inter Miami followed it up with another victory, rallying from a two-goal deficit to defeat FC Cincinnati in the U.S. Open Cup semifinal on penalties after conceding a late equalizer.
Following the Leagues Cup final a few days before, Beckham spoke before that game in the mixed zone. He said:
“Every time Leo [Messi] scores one of these goals, every time Busi [Sergio Busquets] makes one of these passes, every time Jordi [Alba] makes one of these runs, people say ‘Is it a fix?’
“It’s the biggest compliment that anyone can give these players because it is like a movie. You watch these players play and it’s emotional because everything about their play is beautiful. Everything about their mannerisms is beautiful and everything about them as individuals, off the pitch, is beautiful.”
