Luis Rubiales, the head of Spain's national team, may be subject to a lengthy trial for suspected insubordination.
Jenni Hermoso, a Spanish striker, has chosen to take legal action against Rubiales because she claims she was forced to kiss him.
During the Women's World Cup medal ceremony, according to Jenni, he kissed her without her permission.
After grabbing Jenni by the head and kissing her on the lips, the 46-year-old Rubiales sparked fury among the public.
The Football administrator's removal from his role as the RFEF's leader has been demanded.
Liga F, the Spanish Women's League, has previously complained about him to the National Sports Council (CSD).
Following Hermoso's confirmation that she would be taking legal action against Rubiales, the CSD may now be able to take action.
Jenni said on Wednesday night that she will be taking legal action against Rubiales via the Spanish female players' organization FUTPRO.
Hermoso’s statement was brief and read, “My FUTPRO union, in coordination with my TMJ agency, are taking charge of defending my interests and being the interlocutors on this matter.”
