Flamengo Club Players Varela and Gerson Fight During Training

Guillermo Varela, a former Manchester United player from Uruguay, and Gerson Santos da Silva, a former Roma player from Brazil, exchanged blows during a training session on Tuesday at their respective clubs, Flamengo.

In a statement, Flamengo acknowledged that there had been a "altercation" amongst its club players.

Following statement on social media, the Rio de Janeiro club said, "The altercation between Gerson and Varela was resolved internally".

Gerson fouled Varela during practice, and Varela may have broken his nose as a result. In the meanwhile, the two players got into a fight that became physical.
