Roberto Firmino sparkled with a cameo hat-trick as he helped his new club win 3-1 at home against Al-Hazm in the Saudi Pro League opener on Friday.

If you remember, the Brazilian striker departed Liverpool this summer and signed with the Saudi Arabian team.

The former Liverpool striker scored twice in the first ten minutes before adding another goal to complete his hat trick in the 72nd minute to give the newly promoted club the three points.

Al-Ahli and Al-Hazm were two of the four teams promoted to the Saudi first division, which now includes 18 teams instead of the previous 16.

Al Ahil grabbed the lead after six minutes on a header from captain Firmino. Four minutes later, he scored again on a close-range finish from a cross from ex-Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez.

Al-Hazm, who had been completely outplayed in the first half, scored five minutes after the interval when Vina capitalized on a poor clearance by newly acquired Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.

Although Firmino restored the two-goal advantage with less than 20 minutes remaining, he completed a flawless debut night.
