Romeo Lavia has explained why he chose to sign with Chelsea.
Southampton's standout player Romeo Lavia announced on social media that he will be moving to Chelsea for £58 million.
This summer, a number of new players have joined Chelsea as Todd Boehly continues his spending binge. One of them is a Belgian midfielder.
Lavia, a midfielder, reportedly completed his move and passed his physical. He'll commit to the Blues for seven years.
Lavia said to the media that the current Stamford Bridge redevelopment persuaded him to accept Chelsea's offer.
Lavia cited the idea, the ambition, and the history as the main reasons he decided to join Chelsea.
On his reason to join Chelsea, Lavia said: “My feeling is that the project, the ambition and the history were key factors”.
When Chelsea plays West Ham on Saturday, Lavia may get the start.
The Blues and Liverpool drew 1-1 in the weekend's first game for both teams.
