Trent Alexander-Arnold will have a scan after suffering a hamstring injury during Liverpool's 3-0 win against Aston Villa at Anfield, manager Jurgen Klopp said.

While wearing the captain's armband versus Unai Emery's Villa, Alexander-Arnold displayed excellent play the whole game.

But halfway through the second half, Trent Alexander-Arnold had to leave the field due to a hamstring injury. The injured star's absence was filled by Jarell Quansah.

After sending a powerful shot just inches over the crossbar in the 71st minute, Alexander-Arnold was removed from the game.

Dominik Szoboszlai, a recent addition for Liverpool, scored his first goal on an assist from Alexander-Arnold, opened the scoring only three minutes into the game.

Matty Cash's own goal increased the Reds' advantage, and Mo Salah added a third goal 10 minutes into the second half after Darwin Nuez's cross.

Following Liverpool's overwhelming 3-0 victory, Klopp gave a cautiously hopeful report.'I'm interested as well. I don't know exactly,' he said. 'I asked him and he said it's (his) hamstring.

'Not too serious is his opinion, but we obviously have to wait for the scans. Then we will know more.

'Besides Trent's hamstring, it was the perfect afternoon. The atmosphere, the weather. My god! I cannot imagine a better Sunday.'
