Nigerian striker Boniface nominated for Player of the Month

Victor Boniface of Nigeria has been put up as a candidate for the August Bundesliga Player of the Month award.

For the prize, Boniface will compete against Harry Kane and Alphonse Davies of Bayern Munich, Jonas Wind of Wolfsburg, Kevin Behrens of Union Berlin, and Benjamin Henrichs of RB Leipzig.

The 22-year-old played twice for Leverkusen in August, recording two goals and one assist.

Additionally, the striker is vying for the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month honor.

The other nominees for the honor are RB Leipzig's Xavi Simons and Nigerian-born goalkeeper Noah Atubolu.

In three league appearances for Die Werkself, Boniface has so far tallied four goals and one assist.
