Mauricio Pochettino gives a selection suggestion while raising concerns about the roles of Ben Chilwell and Mykhailo Mudryk after losing to Nottingham Forest.
Mykhailo Mudryk was once again put on the bench for Chelsea during their 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest on Saturday, and Mauricio Pochettino made a suggestion about the player's form.
The Ukrainian winger entered the game too late, with his team already down, and was unable to make a difference. This means that the Blues have only four points from their first four games and have lost to two teams that they were predicted to play better against as the season's first international break approaches.
Fans have been baffled as to why Mudryk, who is the only healthy left-sided attacker in the club, continues to be kept out of the lineup, despite the fact that injuries have been a problem for Pochettino in the early weeks of his competitive stint.
"He is a very talented player," Pochettino said when asked about Mykhailo Mudryk's lack of gametime.
The former Tottenham boss added, "He needs to first of all, before talking about football, is feel comfortable, feel really strong in his body, he suffered from the beginning, I remember the Euros he only played one game, was never consistent in training always something happened.
"We are focused on trying to help him be really strong and healthy and feel good to after start to perform. No-one can perform if you don't feel strong in your body. All of the areas he needs to feel good and we are working. Hope in the next weeks he starts to find his form."
