Rasmus Hojlund, a striker for Man Utd, explains why he regards Ronaldo as a "inspiration."
Former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo has earned Rasmus Hojlund's respect, as the Swede has dubbed the Portuguese superstar the "best player ever."
The Danish striker joined Old Trafford from Atalanta last month in a £72 million deal and made his United debut against Arsenal on Sunday after picking up a minor injury.
Hojlund, perhaps the most gifted young attackers in Europe, joins the team after scoring 10 goals in 34 appearances for Atalanta previous season.
He has already made six appearances for the Danish national team, scoring six goals in those appearances.
'My father introduced me when I was not so young. He introduced me to Cristiano Ronaldo, and wanted me to idolise him because he has a good mentality.' Hojlund told Sky Sports.
'That's the reason he achieved so much in his career and for me is the best player ever. He had the talent but it's how hard he worked.'
Meanwhile Rasmus Hojlund made his debut for Manchester United against Arsenal after he was introduced in the second half.
The teenage forward replaced Anthony Martial in the attack of United when the game was at 1-1.
But he couldn't help his team avoid 3-1 defeat to Arsenal who scored twice in the 90th-minute
