David De Gea posted image of himself hanging out with Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes

Manchester United's previous and current captains posed for a photo on social media following the Red Devils' 2-1 victory against Sheffield United on Sunday.

The Spaniard, who departed Old Trafford this summer as a free agent to make room for £43 million signing Andre Onana, posted a photo on Instagram to demonstrate his continued friendship with the current Red Devils captain.

If you recall that De Gea left the team after 12 years, having engaged in protracted contract discussions with the organization last season. De Gea revealed his departure to'seek a new challenge' rather than accept a significant wage reduction at Old Trafford.

Erik ten Hag wanted a goalkeeper who was better with his feet, so he went for Onana in the summer after United had spent many months in discussions with De Gea, whose 190 clean sheets are a club record.

Meanwhile Andre Onana has struggled at Old Trafford stadium since he arrived in the 2023 summer transfer window.
