Cathy Ferguson's burial is attended by a number of former Manchester United players, including David Beckham, Brendan Rogers, Kenny Dalglish

Many football greats, including David Beckham, were in Glasgow today to show their support at the burial for Sir Alex Ferguson's late wife.

The memorial ceremony for Lady Cathy was place this morning in St. Andrew's Cathedral in the middle of the city.

Apparently died away earlier this month at the age of 84, leaving the football community in shock.

Darren Fletcher, 39; Gary Neville, 48; Nicky Butt, 48; Michael Carrick, 42; Ji Sung Park, 42; Bryan Robson, 66; and Steve Bruce, 62; all former Manchester United players, were there with Beckham, 48.

At the funeral were Scottish great Kenny Dalglish, 72, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers, 50, and former Rangers assistant Archie Knox, 76.

Following his late wife's casket from the church, Sir Alex shook hands with the minister, Canon Andrew McKenzie.
