Wayne Rooney has been named manager of Birmingham City Football Club, the team is thrilled to announce.
A three-and-a-half-year deal has been agreed upon with the former Manchester United icon.
Rooney, who just quit his post as the coach in charge of Major League Soccer team D.C. United, is said to have started with immediate effect.
Wayne Rooney will be assisted by former teammate Ashley Cole, who is currently the assistant coach of the England Under-21s, by John O'Shea, who is the assistant coach of the Republic of Ireland men's national team, and by Carl Robinson and Pete Shuttleworth, who both worked with Rooney at DC United.
