The Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps, also known as Kick Against Indiscipline, has once again conducted a raid on street vendors on Magodo Road and seized their merchandise and perishable commodities. On October 8th, they conducted the raid.
Tokubo Wahab, the state's commissioner for environment and water resources, revealed this on his X account.
KAI personnel had removed the unlawful market from the CMD/Magodo road in September and placed the commodities they had confiscated onto their trucks.
“Today, operatives from the Special Squad of #LAGESCOfficial on my directives, again, raided and confiscated wares and perishable goods of recalcitrant street traders who have returned to Shangigha road, Magodo to continue their illegal street trading activities. It should be noted that the state government's total intolerance to street trading, hawking and displaying of wares on walkways will not be relaxed and would be enforced at all times, and violators will be duly punished.”
