Ex Chelsea and Real Madrid star Eden Hazard has decided to retire from football at 32 years old
The ex Chelsea winger hasn't found a new team since being released by Real Madrid in the summer after only making 76 appearances in four seasons with the club.
After leaving Real Madrid, Hazard was unable to find employment elsewhere and has since made the decision to retire from football.
The former Chelsea player announced his intention to permanently leave the game in a long Instagram statement.
He wrote: 'You must listen to yourself and say stop at the right time.
'After 16 years and more than 700 matches played, I have decided to end my career as a professional footballer.
'I was able to realise my dream, I have played and had fun on many pitches around the world.
'During my career, I was lucky to meet great managers, coaches, and teammates - thank you to everyone for these great times, I will miss you all.'
In addition to two La Liga championships and the Champions League with Real Madrid, Hazard also won the Premier League twice, the PFA Player of the Year award, and the Premier League with Chelsea.
The Belgian winger missed 95 matches for club and country in that period due to 18 different ailments he sustained while playing in the capital of Spain.
He added, 'I also want to thank the clubs I have played for: LOSC, Chelsea, and Real Madrid; and thank the RBFA for my Belgian Selection.
'A special thank you to my family, my friends, my advisors, and the people who have been close to me in good times and bad.'
The Belgian played 352 times for Chelsea, scoring 110 goals and dishing out 92 assists.
Hazard won as well two Europa League championships, one FA Cup, and one League Cup while playing with the Blues.
During the 2014–15 season, Hazard was recognized as the PFA Players' Player of the Year and Premier League Player of the Season.
After his outstanding performances on the flank for the Blues, he also earned the Chelsea Player of the Year title four times in a row.
After winning the Copa del Rey, Spanish Super Cup, and UEFA Super Cup while at Madrid, Hazard was able to win six championships.
