Mikel Arteta have praised David Raya following his performance for Arsenal vs Manchester City.
The Gunners recorded 1-0 win over Citizens at the Emirates stadium on Sunday in their match day 8.
Gabriel Martinelli who was introduced to the game in the second half, scored the winner in 87 minutes.
Mikel Arteta has continued to back Raya who joined the Gunners on loan from Brentford.
The Spanish goalkeeper has taken the number shirt ahead of Aaron Ramsdale and Mikel Arteta admitted his goalie performed well.
Although David Raya had some sloppy moments with his passes against City. But the Arsenal boss admitted the misplace passes.
Mikel Arteta on David Raya's performance v Man City:"I think he was excellent. He can misplace one or two passes."
Arsenal boss went ahead to reveal that he is happy with the way Raya controlled the game
Mikel Arteta added, "I demand him to stop the ball when he needs to, to get clarity, to get understanding, to provoke the opponent.
"Overall, the way he controlled the box, the aerials, how dominant he was, how high he played; I thought he was excellent.
"I love players with big courage, and David certainly has [that]."
