Sergio Ramos and Antonio Rudiger collided during Sevilla's tense match against Real Madrid on Saturday.
It would be recalled that Ramos spent 16 years with Real Madrid until departing as a free agent in 2021, and this was the first time he has played his old team since then.
But the 37-year-old put his emotions aside in the hopes of helping Sevilla climb the table following a difficult start that led to a management change during the break.
As the two players came face to face, tensions rose, and Ramos grabbed the German by the face before teammates were able to separate them.
Rudiger grinned before they carried on their conversation, refusing to back down.
After the game, Ramos and Rudiger put their fight to one side and gave each other a hug.
David Alaba scored an own goal in the 74th minute to give Sevilla the lead. Dani Carvajal's header gave Carlo Ancelotti's team a point four minutes later.
Real Madrid maintains their lead in LaLiga as a result of the draw, while Sevilla moves up one position to 13th in preparation for their Champions League match against Arsenal on Tuesday night.
