Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, believes Jeremy Doku deserves to start the match against Brighton.
The winger's performance in the 2-1 victory against Brighton Hove Albion pleased Guardiola.
On Saturday afternoon at the Etihad Stadium, the Citizens earned three points.
Following losses in their previous two games, Manchester City was able to earn victory thanks to goals from Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland.
After the game, Guardiola lauded Jeremy Doku's contribution to the squad.
He said, “Jeremy can play on the right perfectly. Left he is not used to.
“Years ago, it was left player on left and right on right side. Now it’s difficult to find"
Pep Guardiola then cited the reason for preferring Doku over Jack Grealish.
Just so you know, Jack Grealish haven't started a lot of games this season since the arrival of Jeremy Doku.
The Spanish coach said, “Jack (Grealish) is more controlled. He doesn’t have the one-v-one speed.
“Today I doubt a lot the line-up because the game would have more transitions. They are man-to-man and aggressive so we will lose more than usual to make more transition.
“I thought Phil (Foden) and Jeremy with their pace could help us. I thought a lot that Mateo (Kovacic) and Matheus (Nunes) could help us but Bernardo (Silva) with the way we want to press is so important.”
