Manchester United Manager Hopes for Luke Shaw's Return
Manchester United's upcoming clash against Everton in the Premier League has sparked hope for Luke Shaw's potential participation, as Erik ten Hag expressed his optimism regarding the defender's fitness.
Shaw, aged 28, seems poised for his first starting opportunity with Manchester United since his absence began in August due to a muscle injury.
The English defender, who had only managed two appearances earlier in the season before succumbing to the injury, has resumed training this week, raising prospects for his return to the pitch.
Notably, sports journalist Fabrizio Romano cited Erik ten Hag, who confirmed that Shaw has been actively training for the past two weeks, hinting at the likelihood of his availability for the forthcoming Everton fixture.
Ten Hag said: “Luke Shaw has been training for two weeks with the team”.
In his previous season, the 28-year-old contributed significantly, accumulating 47 appearances across various competitions, aiding United in securing qualification for the Champions League and securing the Carabao Cup.
He added, “We are quite hopeful that he will return to the squad for Sunday’s game”.
