Numerous Top Players Affected by Injuries During November's International Matches

The month of November's international break has brought about a slew of injuries among various high-profile players, including Gavi, Vinicius Junior, Erling Haaland, Michail Antonio, Camavinga, and Jarrod Bowen.

Several voices within the football community, including clubs and managers, are urging FIFA to reconsider the number of games played in a calendar year, speculating that this might be a contributing factor to the recent surge in injuries.

This piece specifically focuses on four players who have suffered injuries during this international break:

1. Eduardo Camavinga (Real Madrid / France)

Eduardo Camavinga, a 21-year-old midfielder from Real Madrid, was part of Didier Deschamps' call-up for the international break. Unfortunately, he sustained an injury during training three days ago. The Frenchman suffered a ligament tear in his right knee while practicing with the French national team, rendering him unavailable for weeks. This injury occurred while Camavinga was preparing with France for the European Championship qualifying matches.

2. Vinicius Junior (Real Madrid / Brazil)

Vinicius Junior, a forward for Real Madrid, encountered a setback while representing Brazil's national team in the South American World Cup qualifying matches. The player tore a muscle in his left leg during Brazil's 2-1 loss against Colombia, necessitating his substitution before halftime. This injury is estimated to sideline him for approximately two months, posing a significant setback for Real Madrid.

3. Erling Haaland (Manchester City / Norway)

During international duty with Norway, Erling Haaland sustained an ankle knock. The 23-year-old striker joined the game as a substitute at halftime against the Faroe Islands, and in the final moments of their 2-0 victory, he suffered the injury. Consequently, Manchester City faces a concern as their star striker might miss their upcoming Premier League clash against Liverpool.

 4. Gavi (Barcelona / Spain)

Gavi, a midfielder for Barcelona, is expected to undergo an extended absence due to an injury sustained while playing for Spain against Georgia. Barcelona confirmed that Gavi suffered a complete tear of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. The unfortunate incident took place during Spain's final European Championship qualifying group game against Georgia, forcing Gavi off the field after just 26 minutes of play on Sunday night.
