Jules Kounde Raises Concerns Over Barcelona's Hectic Schedule Leading to Player Injuries

Former Sevilla defender Jules Kounde has voiced apprehensions regarding the mounting injuries within Barcelona's squad, citing the excessive fixture congestion as a catalyst for the growing casualty list.

Injury Woes at Barcelona Continue

Pablo Gavi becomes the latest casualty in a string of injuries plaguing Barcelona, suffering an ACL tear while representing Spain during the recent international break. As a consequence, the promising youngster is set to miss the remainder of the season, leaving a significant void in the team lineup.

Barcelona's Fixture Concerns

Barcelona is set to resume action this weekend as they prepare to face Rayo Vallecano at the Campo de Futbol de Vallecas. However, the team's growing injury crisis, highlighted by Kounde in an interview with Clique TV, poses a pressing issue for manager Xavi Hernandez.

Expressing his unease, Kounde remarked, "There are too many games. The pace has become more and more intense, resulting in too many injuries. We’re heading towards a rhythm that is increasingly perilous, with a surge in serious injuries."

 Manager's Concern and Caution

The series of setbacks due to injuries across the Barcelona squad has left Xavi Hernandez understandably cautious regarding the team's fitness leading up to the clash against Rayo Vallecano. With Gavi's absence further exacerbating the situation, the manager faces a challenge in ensuring squad readiness amidst the demanding schedule.

Kounde emphasized, "What concerns me is that despite acknowledging this issue, some people simply argue that we used to play as much or even more in the past. However, the quantity of games doesn't equate to it being beneficial for the players' well-being."
