Pochettino's Insights on Nkunku and Lavia's Debut Readiness
Mauricio Pochettino has shed light on the fitness statuses of Christopher Nkunku and Romeo Lavia, as Chelsea prepares to take on Newcastle in an upcoming Premier League fixture.
Debut Uncertainty for Summer Signings Nkunku and Lavia
Pochettino disclosed that the eagerly anticipated debuts of summer acquisitions Christopher Nkunku and Romeo Lavia might be delayed. Nkunku, who arrived from RB Leipzig, and Lavia, signed on deadline day from Southampton, are both facing setbacks that hinder their immediate involvement on the field.
Nkunku, a French international, suffered a knee injury during Chelsea's preseason tour in the United States, while Lavia has been grappling with ongoing fitness issues.
Providing an update to the press, Pochettino stated, "Both Nkunku and Lavia are progressing well in terms of their conditions. However, Nkunku is slightly ahead of Lavia in his recovery process."
"He has been involved in some group activities, but he is not fully recovered yet. We'll need to exercise patience and wait a little longer before they can make their debut appearances."
