Liverpool FC's Gesture of Support After Luiz Diaz's Parents Survive Terrifying Ordeal in Colombia

Liverpool Football Club has orchestrated a compassionate move by arranging for Luiz Diaz's parents to travel to the UK and spend Christmas with their son, following their recent harrowing experience in their native Colombia.

On October 28, the parents of Liverpool's forward, Luiz Diaz, were confronted at gunpoint by members of the Colombian left-wing guerilla group, the National Liberation Army.

During the distressing incident, Diaz's mother, Cilenis Marulanda, was promptly released, but his father, Luis Manuel, endured a 12-day captivity before being liberated near the Venezuelan border on November 9.

The heartfelt reunion between the Liverpool striker and his parents took place in Colombia during the international break.

Diaz, subsequently, played a pivotal role in Colombia's historic victory over Brazil, scoring twice and evoking an emotional response from his father, who was watching from the stands at the Estadio Metropolitano.

In a testament to their solidarity and support, Liverpool chartered a private jet for Diaz's parents to return to the UK following the remarkable triumph.

Luiz Diaz is anticipated to join his parents in Merseyside after concluding his international duties in Colombia's World Cup qualifying match against Paraguay on Tuesday.

It's been gathered that Liverpool are poised to resume Premier League action on Saturday, facing Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
