Former Arsenal star Emmanuel Petit has voiced concerns over goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale's discontent at the club, recommending a potential departure during the upcoming January transfer window.
Petit, discussing Ramsdale's situation, emphasized the goalkeeper's apparent dissatisfaction, asserting that a move away from the Gunners could be in the player's best interest. Ramsdale, who made the switch from Bournemouth to Arsenal in 2021, initially served as the club's primary goalkeeper for two seasons. However, with the arrival of David Raya, he has found himself relegated to the bench.
Reflecting on the team dynamics, Petit stated, "People say that signing [David] Raya was a mistake and he has not been perfect, but is Arsenal not top of the league?" Petit shared his perspective with Compare Bet, adding, "If I were Ramsdale, there is no doubt I would ask for a move away in January. I can see he is miserable at the moment, and every day he must be waking up thinking 'what did I do wrong?'"
Considering Ramsdale's ambitions, especially with the upcoming Euros, Petit asserted, "Especially with the Euros coming up, Ramsdale absolutely has to leave. I am pretty sure there are many, many clubs in the Premier League that would love to have him."
