Senegal's Krepin Diatta Blasts CAF After AFCON Exit

Senegal winger Krepin Diatta has caught the public’s eye with his words following his nation’s exit from the AFCON
Senegal suffered a devastating loss to Ivory Coast on penalties after a tense 1-1 draw in 120 minutes of open-play football. Notably, Nottingham Forest’s Moussa Niakhate was the only player who failed to score during the shootout sequence.

Following the match, Diatta did not hold back his frustrations, directing harsh criticisms towards the CAF staff present at the stadium. The 24-year-old reportedly unleashed a scathing remark, accusing them of corruption and expressing disdain by saying: "You have killed us. You are corrupt. Keep your African Cup."

Moreover, the Monaco winger highlighted a contentious incident during the game involving defender Odilon Kossounou and Ismaila Sarr. Diatta emphasized the referee's decision not to award a penalty despite an apparent foul on Sarr in the danger area.

Diatta expressed his disbelief, stating: "You go to the VAR to give them a penalty, while our guy (Sarr) picks up the ball 40 meters from goal, goes on a run into the box, and you don’t want to go to the VAR? I’m sorry, but that is going too far. I am really sorry, but they have killed our competition."
