Victor Boniface, the prolific Super Eagles striker, is on the brink of potentially becoming one of Nigeria's priciest transfers in history, pending Bayer Leverkusen's decision on his future in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Boniface's journey with Bayer Leverkusen commenced in July, following his transfer from Belgian club Union Saint-Gilloise, in a deal surpassing 20.5 million euros. Securing a five-year contract, his tenure with the German club extends until 2028.
Despite Boniface's remarkable performance, amassing ten goals and seven assists in just 16 Bundesliga fixtures, alongside an impressive contribution of four goals and an assist in five Europa League encounters, Bayer Leverkusen remains steadfast in their desire to retain the 23-year-old striker for at least another season. This stance effectively dampens speculation regarding a potential sale. Moreover, Boniface showcased his prowess by netting two goals in two appearances during the DFB-Pokal matches.
