Ex Man City Star, Robinho Begins Nine-Year Sentence for Gang-Rape: Faces Isolation in Brazilian Prison

Former Manchester City footballer Robinho faces a stark reality as he embarks on his nine-year prison term for involvement in a gang-rape incident.

Alongside five others, Robinho was found guilty of sexually assaulting an Albanian woman at a club in 2013, leading to his conviction.

 A Long Road to Justice

Despite an international arrest warrant issued by Italy, Robinho managed to evade incarceration for seven years while residing in Sao Paulo. However, his past caught up with him, and he now confronts the consequences of his actions. Maintaining his innocence, Robinho's legal team is in the process of appealing the verdict.

From Star Athlete to Prisoner

Robinho, now 40 years old, faces the harsh reality of imprisonment in a Brazilian facility known for its grim conditions. Transferred to the Tremembé prison, he joins a population of convicted murderers and rapists, forced to undertake menial tasks such as producing toilet cleaner. Initially, he will spend a minimum of ten days in solitary confinement, isolated from other inmates.
