Former Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero had to leave the pitch during a legends' match in Argentina when his shoulder popped out following a challenge.
Return to the Pitch
Sergio Aguero made a comeback to the field on Sunday for a match commemorating the 120th anniversary of Independiente, his first professional club. Despite his extensive career, Aguero was only able to play for 11 minutes before sustaining a shoulder injury.
Injury Incident
During the match, Aguero drove towards the box but was brought down by a challenge from Juan Eduardo Eluchans. As a result, his shoulder made contact with the turf, causing him to fall. Immediately after the incident, Aguero could be seen clutching his shoulder in pain before being substituted.
Career Challenges
Aguero's appearance in the match is noteworthy considering his forced retirement from professional football in 2021 due to a heart condition. He retired shortly after joining Barcelona from Manchester City, having played only 165 minutes for the Spanish club. His retirement came after experiencing chest discomfort during a match against Alaves and subsequent diagnosis of heart arrhythmia.
Aguero tearfully confirmed his retirement during a press conference in December 2021, marking the end of a remarkable football career marred by physical challenges.
