Jakub Kiwior has unveiled the inner thoughts of his international teammate, Wojciech Szczesny, regarding Arsenal's matches, stressing the goalkeeper's inability to watch due to the intense pressure.
Nonetheless, Szczesny remains fervently hopeful for Arsenal's success this season, expressing his desire for the club to clinch trophies.
In an interview with Polish media, Kiwior shed light on his conversation with Szczesny, recounting how the goalkeeper passionately urged him to secure silverware for the Emirates Stadium. "When I arrived at the training camp, I met Wojtek [Szczesny] and he told me: 'win it, win it!'" Kiwior disclosed. "He said he couldn’t watch Arsenal matches because he was nervous and stressed."
The camaraderie between the two players extended onto the field as they both featured prominently in Poland's recent fixture, the semi-final of the European Championship qualification play-offs against Estonia. Notably, both Kiwior and Szczesny completed the full 90 minutes, contributing to Poland's commanding 5-1 victory, with four goals scored in the second half.
Looking ahead, Poland braces itself for a decisive encounter against Wales in the final qualification play-off, where the stakes couldn't be higher. The outcome of this match determines the fate of both teams, with the victor securing a coveted spot in the tournament while the vanquished faces disappointment.
