Antonio Rudiger, a prominent figure in German football, along with the German Football Association (DFB), has initiated legal proceedings in response to accusations linking him to a terrorist organization.
Earlier this month, Rudiger, known for his devout Muslim faith, shared a photo on Instagram depicting himself adorned in a white robe atop a prayer mat. In the image, he gestures with his right hand's index finger pointed towards the sky, accompanied by a message commemorating Ramadan: 'May the Almighty accept our fasting and prayers.'
Subsequently, Rudiger lodged a formal criminal complaint with the Berlin public prosecutor's office. Additionally, the DFB reported the matter to the Central Office for Combating Internet Crime (ZIT) within the Frankfurt/Main Public Prosecutor's Office.
The Real Madrid luminary perceives himself as the target of defamation and slander due to an Instagram post made at the onset of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
On Monday, Rudiger took legal action by filing a criminal complaint against Reichelt with the Berlin public prosecutor's office. The complaint cites offenses including insult, slander, inflammatory insult, and sedition.
