Eden Hazard's Legacy at Lille

Eden Hazard commenced his professional career at Lille, where he made a significant impact over the years. Making his debut for the club in 2007, Hazard went on to make 194 appearances, during which he scored 53 goals and provided 50 assists. His contributions were instrumental in Lille's success, notably helping the team secure the league title in 2011.

Transition to Chelsea and Success

In 2012, Hazard made a pivotal move to Chelsea, departing Lille for a transfer fee of £32 million under the management of Rafa Benitez. His tenure at Chelsea was marked by immense success, with Hazard becoming a beloved figure among the fans. He played a key role in the team's triumphs, clinching two Europa League titles, an FA Cup, and a League Cup during his time at the club.

Challenges at Real Madrid

Despite his accomplishments at Chelsea, Hazard faced challenges upon his transfer to Real Madrid. Although he added more trophies to his collection, including La Liga titles, his stint at the Spanish club was marred by injuries and inconsistent form. With only 44 of his 76 appearances coming from the start, Hazard's time at Madrid did not unfold as initially envisioned.

Retirement

In October of the previous year, at the age of 33, Eden Hazard announced his retirement from professional football. His decision followed a period of uncertainty after leaving Real Madrid, during which he was unable to secure a new club. Despite the challenges he encountered towards the end of his career, Hazard's legacy as a football icon, particularly at Lille, remains intact.
