Since sustaining an ACL injury in August last year, Timber, a full-back, has been sidelined, significantly impacting his participation in matches for the club. The injury occurred not long after Timber's transfer from Ajax to Arsenal.

Despite his limited appearances due to injury, Timber showcased his potential during pre-season activities with the Gunners, offering glimpses of his talent and contribution to the team.

With just one appearance for Arsenal this season, which took place during the victory over Nottingham Forest on the opening day, Timber's journey back to full fitness has been a gradual process.

While Timber has been actively training with the first-team squad, Arteta has emphasized a cautious approach to his reintegration into competitive matches, prioritizing his long-term fitness and well-being.

In response to inquiries about Timber's expected return, Arteta outlined a structured plan: "We want him to play at least one game with the U23, an in-house game too, and these are the steps before we see him back."

Therefore, Timber must demonstrate his readiness through successful performances with Arsenal's U-23 side and in training matches before being considered for inclusion in Premier League or Champions League fixtures.

Arteta commended Timber's dedication and progress in training, underscoring the importance of achieving peak physical condition before transitioning to competitive games: "He's done a great job in training, now it's about getting fit for the real games."
